The Denver Post:

Xcel Energy said Wednesday that it is cutting the financial incentives it offers to customers for solar-energy installations.

Xcel said the reductions are justified because the cost of solar panels has been declining and customers no longer need higher incentives to offset installation costs.

Xcel doing the bidding of coal, oil and gas folks based on affordability is a new approach.
With the true costs of coal revealed in a report available on HuffPo today (and similar hidden costs for the other fossil fuels), Xcel ignoring these factors shows the announcement to be factually inaccurate.

Enron accounting that keeps pollution as an off balance sheet entity is shifting the costs from corporations to society... and utilities have the option of making reparations by cooperating in the transition to green energy OR paying out billions in court settlements.

Xcel had been touting itself as an innovator concerned about these issues and this step goes backwards.
