As an Oregonian who has lived on the coast, I can comment on your choices of beach here: two thumbs down. They are too crowded with tourists. There are miles of coast from Astoria down to Brookings where you can have the Pacific Ocean to yourself. One of the nicest things about Oregon is that all the coast is public. Even if someone has built his castle on the sea, he cannot prevent you from crossing the beach he fronts.
