Awesome house, but that price seems crazy even for LA.

I see the jealous Jen haters are out in force.

All you Jennifer haters wish you had her money and fame. Not to mention anything to sell that's worth 42 million. She is deciding to sell her house, what's the big deal? Celebs sell and buy houses all the time...

And there you have it, the reason California is on the verge of bankruptcy: selling homes for more than they are worth.

13.5 million 5 years ago---42 million today. ROFLMAO

I don't care if someone will pay that amount for it. It would be a dumb business decision and it creates a bubble that will be burst.

False home values, a California favorite.

Bad governance and people living lives they can't afford, which included multiple kids lead to bankruptcy. As for the house - it cost 13.5 million when she bought it - shes had extensive renovations done on it since then and its obviously worth more with the renovations and it might just be ideal for an Asian, or Russian billionaire - this would be spare change to them

Nope, bubbles bursting and causing the true real estate value to emerge which left homeowners owing more than they could sell their house for caused a lot of this mess  (please note that I did not say ALL of this mess).

It doesn't matter if someone will PAY the price, what matters is that THE BUBBLE WILL BE SET UP AGAIN AND IT WILL BURST BECAUSE OF INFLATED SALE PRICES.

this is not good, I wish california would stop it, they are almost in bankruptcy. OMg

People who are so zen-like and looking to simplify don't ask triple what they paid 5 years ago.

Zen doesn't mean you can't make a profit.

Wait, something isn't right. She bought the home in 2006 for 13.5 million when real estate prices were nearing the housing bubble peak. And now a short 5 years latter she is tripling the asking price to 42 million real estate prices are down. Even if she did upgrade and remodel, the house simply cannot be worth that much. Even in L.A. $42 million homes are not that common and you cannot turn a $13 million dollar house into a $42 million house.

You can ask whatever you want for a property. As many have learned recently, asking and getting are two very different things.

Aniston is living in a museum not a home. When she moves to NYC, she can get a job as a night watchperson at New York Museum of Art and History and she would feel as if she never left Beverly Hills.

If you lose your way all day long, but finally manage to get home by the evening, you are not lost.

She's been wearing the same 'curtain hairstyle' for 20 years.

Oh goody. It just makes my day, that she is selling her house.
02:25 AM on 02/20/2011
With real estate values sinking in Beverly Hills by the day (and a large shadow inventory), that house is worth $4 million, maybe $5 million now. If she gets $10 million she is the most fortunate person in the history of the world. Unless, of course, there is a demand for, as someone in a blog comment said, for places that not only look like they were designed by Quagmire, but where the view is of the sun coming up and setting behind the brown L.A. haze that makes the area look like it's a three pack a day smoker.

Depends on who designed it - often designers who rarely design and are sort after their work (i.e) the houses they design become as precious as collector's items.

If she organizes a private auction and puts together a list of all the famous designers who worked on her house and the fact that she as the queen of comedy lived there (in the future it is going to be worth a lot of money like Marilyn Monroe's items) she could easily net even 50 million.

Absolutely nuts! To even use her name in the same sentence as Marilyn's is sacrilege.
Queen of Comedy? Laughing so hard I can barely stand up. Her movies may make some $ and pay for themselves, but she is universally reviewed as 'the actress who can't act'. Always exactly the same. Let's see her cut her hair, put on some weight and skip the makeup for her next movie. She would never do it and would never be offered the part, as she is and will always be "Rachel". She won't get what she paid for this house, even with the renovations. Not unless it was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

Queen of Comedy? So now she's Lucille Ball? She was mildly amusing in Office Space and just irritating in everything else.

I wouldn't be surprised.

Most of the homes that sell where I live, are in the million plus range...and all cash buyers.

Please, dear lord, make her pull her hair away from her face.

Don't ask the lord to do that, ask him to make her hide her face. She looks like a cross between an afghan hound and a moose.

I missed this one earlier.
Too funny. And sadly very accurate... that's the perfect description.
