Nick Gruber To Playgirl: 'Go F**k Yourself'

It's been pretty quiet on the Calvin Klein/Nick Gruber front since the 68-year-old designer threw a birthday bash for the 21-year-old model...but Michael Musto of the Village Voice has a new tale to tell. The tale of Gruber and a little magazine called Playgirl.

Vice President of Marketing for Playgirl Daniel Nardicio told Musto that once upon a time he contacted Gruber to pose for the magazine, and Gruber agreed -- as long as he'd be on the cover. But then Gruber started playing hard to get. Nardicio recounts, "Finally, in frustration I texted [Gruber] to forget it, and he came back with 'You only want me because of my fame, so you can go fuck yourself.'"

Then Nardicio essentially told Gruber he was just Klein's flavor of the week (using more graphic terms), to which Gruber replied, "Calvin is my partner -- you don't understand because you don't have that."

Moral of the story: Gruber won't be posing for Playgirl any time soon or ever. Sorry ladies and gents.

Darling Harold, CK is just strange. I think he'd do anything to regain his youth and I mean anything.
He's a cousin of one of my best friends. I've met him a few times on my NY trips when he was younger and trying to be straight. This is his second face lift and the haircut may be the product of a hair implant. He used to be a fairly nice good looking guy. I still like his designs having owned a few myself.

CK was "trying to be straight"? That is a revelation; for I’ve always assumed that CK was unequivocally and absolutely GAY.

I should be a little more charitable with CK; for I would consider a pact with the devil to regain my youth too, but dating a younger clone version of oneself tends to draw attention to the advance of time.

CK shirts do fit me well. Will my criticisms of CK hex my next shirt shopping expedition?

as a fellow gay man, I'm more embarrassed by you. Michael Musto is a brilliant writer and has done the gay community a lot of good in the past 25 years. Klein has done nothing except use that gay community when it served him, and claimed to be straight when that made him more money. I suspect you're a "straight acting, seek same" sort of gay which is sad and embarrassing for you.

You suspect wrong. Your judgements are skewed. Embarrassing for you - if that's how you see things. You may be right about Mr Musto. My only exposure to him has been as a guest on MSNBC where his opinions and comments have been catty and silly and about celebrity news of no real import. In a word - embarrassing. I'll research him more fully to learn what I may have missed. I'm 65, have lived in SF since 1967, was out in Jr. High in Mi in the early 60s. I'm not in the least the 'straight acting' person you think I should be embarrassed to be. Anything but. As for YOU being embarrassed by me, I couldn't care less.

No. Idiocy is sad.
My ex and I were together for 7 years and still love each other. I'm now 65 and he's now 31. He was 23 when we met. We had, and still have a great relationship which was never 'sad.'

The only reason I support must here is because, when it was in calvins own financial and business interest to be a married heterosexual and flaunting it in headlines everywhere, he did so.
