Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg Flank Obama At Tech Titan Dinner (PHOTOS)

First Posted: 02/18/11 10:46 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 07:35 PM ET

Via the White House Flickr photostream come photos of President Obama's buzzed-about dinner with tech leaders Thursday evening.

The guest list (see below) included tech luminaries such as Apple CEO Steve Jobs, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and outgoing Google CEO Eric Schmidt.

One photo of the dinner offers a glimpse into the seating arrangement for the evening, as well as of Jobs, who is currently on medical leave. Notably, Jobs and Zuckerberg were seated directly to Obama's left and right, respectively. Jobs donned his trademark black turtleneck, while others in attendance opted for suits and ties.

A White House official described the meeting as "part of our ongoing dialogue with the business community on how we can work together to win the future, strengthen our economy, support entrepreneurship, increasing our exports, and get the American people back to work," noting prior to the event, "The President and the business leaders will discuss our shared goal of promoting American innovation, and discuss his commitment to new investments in research and development, education and clean energy."

See the photos below, followed by the guest list.

The best CEO of the best company in America. Salute Steve Jobs, don't stalk him for a 'cancer' photo.

Apple is the brightest, best, and most hopeful corporate story in America. They care about their customers, make fantastic, innovative products, and have deeply rewarded their shareholders with a towering stock price. Can the vultures who want to pick at Steve Jobs ailing condition show the slightest modicum of respect and restraint? Root for him--he's good for America--don't stalk him outside restaurants while he dines with his wife. Man...

If republicans could put the country first and work with this president, things could be getting better and better. But not this current crop of republicans, anything the president does is wrong. Anything the president does not do is wrong. In the meantime the country is hurting and continues to hurt. Mr. President do what you think is best for the country. If the republicans do not like it, ask them to kiss your ring.

Having read a bunch of these comments down thread, I'm amused by the number of people suggesting that the president should be having dinners with people other than the tech titans. As if to suggest that this is the only dinner meeting he's attended thus far in 2011.

Good heavens, people, the man is reaching out to myriad groups for ideas. He's looking for solutions to some incredibly difficult problems. And he's smart enough to recognize that defunding public broadcasting isn't the panacea.

Give the man a break.

Release the Hydrogen Economy now!
09:46 PM on 02/20/2011
Oh, there is Obama telling Zucker not to even THINK ABOUT INSTALLING ONE OF THOSE 500 kW BLOOM ENERGY POLLUTION FREE HYDROGEN FUEL CELLS ELECTRICAL GENERATION SYSTEMS at Facebook HQ's like GOOGLE, ADOBE and EBAY did and which are saving MILLIONS OF POUNDS OF CO2 FROM BEING RELEASED INTO THE ATMOSPHERE!

And Obama, for his THIRD budget in a row, has CHOPPED the bulk of the DOE funding for Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electrical Generation Technology and Research. On the first two attempts, thankfully, the Congress overruled Obama and restored the funding to their current levels and even increased funding in some area's.

But now that the Rockefeller Syndicate, the controllers of Exxon and JPMorganChase, donated Obama's Chief of Staff (Daley) from off the Board of Directors at JPMorganChase, this final ASSAULT on Hydrogen Fuel Cell funding like likely succeed.

We cannot have POLLUTION FREE hydrogen fuel cell electrical generation powering transportation, homes and businesses which would annihilate the OIL CARTEL profit's overnight now can we.

So, Obama's message to these WEALTHY Techie Heads was to KEEP THEIR MOUTHS SHUT on their Bloom Energy Hydrogen Fuel Cell Server installations.

Obama has proved to be nothing more that a Corporate SHILL being controlled out of The Pratt House in NY, David Rockefeller, Chairman Emeritus.

American's should stand up like those protesters in North African and the Middle East and hit the streets to take control of their Nation State and Government from the ALLIED CORPORATE STATE that now controls America.

I have yet to see pictures of Steve Jobs face-on. I wonder if he is in pretty bad shape. There have been rumors, and that is all they are, that he may not have long to live.

It looks like that the angle of the picture deliberately avoids the facial shot of Steve Jobs; perhaps to avoid any press-controversy on Jobs health.

To anyone claiming there is not a dime's worth of difference between the parties... imagine a Republican in Obama's place. All those geniuses would be scummy lawyers in charge of corporations asking for more tax breaks and laxer rules.
