New Sarah Palin Book By Joe McGinniss To Be Released In September

JUNEAU, Alaska — A best-selling author accused of helping leak an unpublished tell-all on Sarah Palin is releasing his own book on the former Alaska governor this summer.

Amazon.com lists a Sept. 20 release date for author Joe McGinniss' "The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin."

McGinniss, who wrote a magazine expose on Palin and her natural gas pipeline plans, made headlines last year when he moved next door to the Palins in Wasilla for about three months while researching the book. The move prompted complaints by Palin, who had the fence between their properties extended.

More recently, McGinniss has been accused of helping leak a draft of an unpublished tell-all by former Palin aide Frank Bailey. Details from the manuscript got national attention after the leak to news outlets and Alaska political circles late last week.

In a letter to McGinniss, an attorney for Bailey and writers Ken Morris and Jeanne Devon alleges McGinniss received a copy of the manuscript between Feb. 16 and 18 and says the matter "appears to be no more than that of a jealous author sabotaging a competitor via unlawful and unscrupulous means."

A copy of the letter was posted on Devon's blog. The Anchorage Daily News has reported that it received copies of the manuscript from multiple sources, including McGinniss.

Neither McGinniss nor a spokeswoman for Crown Publishing Group, which is publishing McGinniss' book under its Broadway imprint, immediately returned messages Tuesday.

McGinniss' book agent, Dave Larabell, told The Associated Press that McGinniss wasn't the only person in the publishing world to see the manuscript. He declined further comment.

McGinniss is a best-selling author whose previous works include "The Selling of the President," about the marketing of Richard Nixon.

IMO, it appears that Sarah Palin is amazingly tainted goods though books about her (any of 'em, all of 'em) will sell well because reasonable people need to know who/what allowed her to not blink when 'tapped' by poor old 2008 John McCain.

The bamboozling of an unsuspecting public in the age of intense fear-mongering by the powerful personshood of Rupert Murdoch, his Saudi prince, and the Koch brothers, et al that makes gentle teapeople and baggers (the GOTP), progressives, moderates, and/or independents (of whatever political persuasion susceptible to the rantings of the Glenn Beck and his rodeo clown posse.

The American public should welcome any books that give insider info about Sarah Palin. I plan to buy and/or loan all of the 3 following--"Paradigm Shift: The Palin Matrix: The Progressive Left Strikes Back!" by Floyd M. Orr (Paperback - Jan 1, 2011) (also on Kindle), the book from the Frank Bailey manuscript which will eventually hit the bookshelves, and Mr. McGinniss' book which will be released in September.

Good for you. I feel the same way. I did not know about the Orr book you said was released in January. Will get a copy. I agree about the more books the better - because if everything known about her, her family etc., was in one book it would be the size of a set of encyclopedias. I do not know what is going on with the manuscript that was released. I read several Alaskan bloggers each day - and it seems that someone sent it out to people and that was a real surprise to the folks working on the manuscript. However - it has gone out to enough people that even if someone (can't imagine who, though, can you?) tries to stop the publication - the info will get out. And - with other books in the works - sooner or later all of the things Sarah has tried to keep hidden will be known. I, personally, want to know about the "fill-in" babies who were used and introduced as Trig - especially the one with the "ruffled" ears. Where did the babies come from and what happened to them?
