Batali will offer special deals at his 15 restaurants for Foursquare users in New York, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. He'll also be leaving tips at his favorite restaurants for other users to check out.
Users who follow Batali on Foursquare or check in at one of his venues can unlock a brand new badge that bears the chef's name.
Foursquare rep Erin Gleason said of the collaboration, "[W]e thought he'd make an ideal partner since he's known for his creativity, boldness, sense of adventure."
This partnership makes sense for the location-based social network. According to recent data, "food" was the most popular check-in category among Foursquare users in 2010.
