Two weeks ago, Wake Forest baseball coach Tom Walter went under the knife to save the life of a young player suffering from an autoimmune disorder.

Walter donated his kidney to help outfielder Kevin Jordan recover.

The story of Walter's donation made national news, inspiring a flurry of phone calls to the National Kidney Foundation, WFMY News reports, as others were wondering how they too could make a difference.

While Jordan has a much longer recovery process ahead, Walter has returned to coaching. The coach was cheered by fans, who celebrated him as a local hero for his live-saving gift.

It's great to see another human acting so selflessly. Thank you Coach.

This is a great story. With all the bad news it's good to read a positive article to start the day.

Why is that so "wow" worthy in your opinion? (not being a smart behind either. I'd really like to hear why.)

This man opened his heart and literally opened up his body to this young man moves me profoundly. That he did it in this climate of hostility towards young brothers makes me want to say wow.

Second Tanya11111. I just now realized that you were writing in haiku, poignantly for that matter. F&F
