Icelandair Crew Video Defies The Odds, Is Actually Funny (VIDEO)

First Posted: 02/28/11 09:04 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 07:35 PM ET

There appear to be some pretty original folks over at Icelandair. It seems as though the crew of that airline decided it would be a good idea to make a mildly grotesque but completely hilarious video of a wannabe pilot dancing to some mildly sketchy Euro beats. The video was made for the annual ball of their parent company, Icelandair Group, which runs a handful of tourism companies for that country.

Though we don't understand a lick of Icelandic, it's not hard to tell that the man (who turns out to be a flight attendant) really wants to be seen as a pilot. Of course, the music alone and the idea of a pilot dancing along the gangway to a plane is one we're not soon to forget.

The group kindly has an entire page on YouTube, so you can check out more videos from the ball.

Apparently they didn't want the attention after all; when you hit 'play' now, it says, "This video is private." Huh. Too bad, 'cos I kinda wanted to see that.

Okay, then it's DEFINITELY me. What on earth?? Maybe it's one of those "blocked in Canada" things...?? As I said to Eleanor above, even the Icelandair channel on YouTube is telling me there ARE no uploads to view. I guess I'll have to use my imagination!

Translation of the conversation in the cockpit:
Flight attendant: Hi guys! Would you like some coffee?
Pilot 1 : What is the matter with you? Do you realize it is just 5 minutes to departure?
FA: The bus broke down....
Pilot: uh, ok, thanks for the coffee.
FA: (kneeling down). Wow! Cool screens!! May I touch them?
Pilot: No! Not now!
FA: Later, perhaps?
Pilot: Maybe...

Seems to me that the Pilots are poking some good natured fun at the male flight attendants' "cockpit envy"! :)

Takk fyrir means Thank You, could not understand anything else spoken. The getting dressed in uniform was a rip off from Ali G opening sequence but still funny. It is against the law for a woman to be ugly in Iceland.

Hilarious! If this was put out in America there would be people screaming that it was unfit for television.

American television sucks, big time...!

1. This is a LOCAL video!
2. The "steward" actually is a pilot!
3. Very funny for ME and my other coworkers at ICELANDAIR!
...and even more funny because the world-press is telling about it and some even think it is some kind of advertisment for ICELANDAIR or a new uniform for ICELANDAIR.
