Kate Middleton's Royal Wedding Shoes? Manolo Blahnik, Giuseppe Zanotti & More Sketch Ideas (PHOTOS)

First Posted: 02/28/11 08:46 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:35 PM ET

So much for the dress! We're sort of sick and tired of speculating what type of frock Kate Middleton will wear on her big day...but the shoes -- that's something we could gab about for hours. Footwear News asked a handful of top designers to sketch their designs for Kate's Royal Wedding footwear. Take a look at Manolo Blahnik, Guiseppe Zanotti and René Caovilla's suggestions and head over to FN for even more ideas.

Manolo Blahnik
His design: An ivory silk pump with organza lilies of the valley and sea pearls
"It represents springtime and everything fresh and new, which is what Kate Middleton is all about."

Giuseppe Zanotti
His design: A black satin sandal with large sapphire centerpiece and surrounding diamonds, on a metal-tipped stiletto
"I wanted her shoes to match the classic and sophisticated elements of her ring, but with a younger, modern edge. Jewelry for the feet is my DNA, so designing for a princess comes very naturally."

René Caovilla
His design: A white satin sandal with marabou feathers and multicolor Swarovski crystal gems
"This shoe is fit for a princess because the sandal is elegant, sexy and precious, and it suggests a magical atmosphere."

This clinches it: shoe designers are sadists.

I just read that the girl had more sense than to choose these ridiculous shoes.

That poor girl...ok not so poor.....is gonna walk down a very long aisle in front of millions.....she needs a shoe that a woman designs for comfort and stability. Style will be a 'no duh', but ability to walk gracefully without pain is a MUST.

Those who design shoes should be required to wear each design for 24hrs straight before they release the design to the pain ridden public.

The shoes are magnificent, but let's not forget about the dresses. Princess-to-be Kate will be selecting a dress that will follow her in history, like the world renowned choices of
Princesses before her. Please follow this story of grand significance at:

Yes, feathers! Anyway, all of these are far too tall. I'd personally be wearing ballet flats under all that dress. Like I need to fall or trip in front of billions of people. Not to mention the hours wearing them.

how about white flip flops?

Waiting for Something

They remind me of murder weapons. I fell off my 3 1/2 inch shoes and really injured my old self about a year ago, so now I cringe when I see heels this tall. Sadly, I am now wearing sensible flats and feel most matronly. I, for one, can't wait to see the gown, the shoes....all of it!

The Manolos are gorgeous.

The Zanottis are HOT, but wow -- she would need a LOT of practice walking in those beforehand. :)

Who cares which shoes she's going to choos?
1. This wedding is overrated, even for the Brits. The couple is just a boring couple like the rest of the British Royals, and have nothing to contribute, no one even j\knows if they are smart or not, interested in anything except becoming the King&queen, and when.
2. The shoes - nobody, not even the bride will see them, the dress will cover them entirely.
Let them get married - stop chasing them' they have nothing to say, and are obliged by the Royal code to do as they are told.

I love Lillies of the Valley so I lust after those Manolos...if they could be made in a kitten heal LOL

Manolo's is rather fussy but OK. The others look COMPLETELY tacky. Black satin at a wedding and Swarovski on shoes just ain't princess wear, folks. Think classy.

Horrifying, why would women believe in the idiocy of harming themselves by wearing these things.

Because it is sexy.
