WHO: Kamrooz Aram
WHAT: "Negotiations"
WHEN: Friday Feb.18th - March 26th, 2011
WHERE: Perry Rubenstein Gallery
527 West 23rd street
New York, NY 10011
WHY: A mix of paint and collage, Kamrooz Aram's newest work creates a dialogue between Iranian culture and art history; using art historical objects, Aram modifies these images with his own contemporary touches of paint and color.
His new work includes two new series of paintings: fana' and flag paintings along with a series of collages entitled "7,000 years." The show embodies the artists own negotiations with art history as well as Iranian culture and history.
