it would be more effective if she defended herself. if a woman CEO is called-out, her husband doesn't defend her and if he did it would look silly, so why should it be different with high profile entertainers. this macho posturing is unnecessary.

Public people, celebrities, shouldn't be so thin-skinned. Much ado about nothing. IMO I think Ms. Carey is dynamic with oodles of confidence and could go toe-to-toe with Handler. Nick ole buddy, starting a cat fight is unattractive for you and since the shtick Handler pulled was all about you and not your wife IMO you sound immature and racist.

Chelsea Handler would have to be functionally retarded to be considered one of the "hardest working women in show business", because everything she does and says is lowest common denominator, lazy humor. I have friends who watch Chelsea Lately and swear she is one of their favorite comedians, and it seriously makes me worry about the values of my generation (and I'm a socialist atheist). A watered down Joan Rivers clone with about 10% the talent, Handler is getting paid millions to say the same things that drunk 21 year olds scream at clubs. I really hope she turns out to be anti-Semitic or a man or something so people will stop paying attention to her. Even Queen Harpy Kathy Griffin is slightly more bearable than her. Anyone but Chelsea.

I watched her show upon occasion- her humor is very much the lowest comon denominator and yes very lazy humor.
Same jokes every night - not at all original.
She boasts that her best friend is Jenny Mc Carthy who not only has no talent but tried to convince everyone that vaccines cause autism.
Now we have a measles epidemic in uk and Germany.
She has a show because she was living with the President of E TV before that she could barely get booked at comedy clubs.

Like her or not, I do, she is one of the hardest working women in show business.
 
She has TWO books on the "bestseller list" now, with a third out that will surely get there.
 
Besides her successful TV show, she tours almost every weekend, doing book signings before the shows.
 
If money is a barometer of success, she will be one of the most successful comedians of all time.

A few years ago, I actually thought Chelsea was funny (um..maybe more than a few years). But, as others have written, she's just plain mean and ugly in her attempt to remain relevant. I HATE the way she talks about Chewy? Yes, he laughs all the way to the bank but I get embarrassed for him.
Nick? I mean did he hit the gravy train or WHAT? Whatever they are sniping about, well, Nick should let it go. This IS chelsea and I think her days as a celeb may be numbered.
