Royal Wedding Website Launches, Promises First Details On Kate Middleton's Dress

Royal Wedding Website

First Posted: 03/02/11 12:11 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:35 PM ET

St. James' Palace launched the official Royal Wedding website on Wednesday. Right now, the site has tabs for The Service, The Procession, The Reception and general Background info...and according to the first blog post:

The website will be regularly updated with exclusive content, including photo galleries, features, videos and links to important information for visitors on the day.

The website will bring together all of the official social media around the event, including the Clarence House and Buckingham Palace Flickr account, Twitter (@Clarence House), The Royal Channel on YouTube and the British Monarchy Facebook page, providing direct easy access to all channels of communication. Subject to further planning work, the website may feature a live web stream broadcast of the wedding itself.

And the thing we're most excited about? The site will be the very first place to see the details of Kate's wedding dress on the big day. Hey, they know what the people want!

It seems like the Royal Wedding has been all 2.0 from the start. Prince William and Kate's engagement was announced on Twitter in November, and they used the microblogging site again last month to announce who would be the Maid of Honor, Bridesmaids, Best Man and Page Boy.

Take a look at the site and tell us what you think in the comments.

I wish them all the best. I couldn't imagine being under this type of scrutiny and I wouldn't want to be. I just hope that she can handle it.

Are we, as a collective bunch, this moronic? I will never understand why the Royal Family, and the concept of the ('ceremonial', 'symbolic') Royal Family still isn't entirely ridiculed. I cannot wait for this wedding to be over with. All this news is sickening.

I, myself want to be surprised when I see her in her wedding gown on her wedding day. They may post info but I think it will be wrong. If they are going so far as to be actually making the dress at the palace then they certainly aren't going to be releasing details.

Hi, Oxford!

You are right, there will be virtually no information.

I'm want to be surprised too!! Makes it so much more fun.

I sincerely hope that her dress will remain a secret until the special day arrives. The over-eager will just have to wait.

Cool!

I saw a picture recently by ABC news at the same event, where it was so touched up it was fake and not her anymore.. She has a thin upper lip, and it was magically fixed and her eyes where perfected by photoshop(lol)... I think she will do a great job just as long as in the royal family but the media needs to stop calling her a style icon haha.

It's all lovely. She looks just like the Queen Mum back when, doesn't she?

I'm so glad she got those eyebrows properly shaped. Big improvement.

Do you like the way they are shaped? Yes they are much better but a little severe, don't you think?
07:09 AM on 03/03/2011
I think what makes them look severe is that she has used black pencil on them, why I'm not sure. And combined with that horrid style of eyeliner, which has been so out- of- date for a long time makes the whole look severe, perhaps even a bit trashy. I trust she'll have her makeup style together before the wedding.

When he was young he bore a strong resemblance to his mother Princess Diana, now he seems to be more like his father prince Charles.

I don't see that. He still looks like his mom to me. I think his actions are also indicative of his mother.

I agree, he is starting to look more like his father as he gets older.

I find something subtly creepy about this photo. They both look very nice but it reminds me of the Diana worship stuff at the beginning of their marriage. Notice how the photographer puts extra emphasis on Kate, even though William and the others in the photo are not so far behind that they should be so out of focus.

Look I am not a monarchist but Woman, I know you waited 8 years for this guy, but are you sure you want the PR that comes with it?

She knows full well the PR involved with being married to William. She knows this isn't just a marriage, it's a job.

I think they're a fantastic couple.

I wonder how much she thought about what comes with Prince William if she marries him? You know she's never going to be able to retire from it. You couldn't pay me enough to marry him.

Conspicuous consumption is vulgar, these two should just elope.

They cannot elope! English law provides that the marriage of what is essentially a crown prince must be performed by the religious head of the English church. Because William will one day be King of England and, thusly, the titular head of the church there, he cannot just run off and elope. It's very complicated but he isn't Edward VIII who didn't believe in his role as King as much as he wanted Mrs. Simpson. William is aware of and fully accepts his future as King and it is quite evident he is extremely happy with his future Queen too!

That King and Queen crap is about as legit as bank robbery and most of the brits want it gone
