Charlie Sheen, Commencement Speaker?

First Posted: 03/03/11 09:16 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:35 PM ET

Charlie Sheen Commencement

Given his recent televised diatribes, Charlie Sheen would probably make a fairly entertaining commencement speaker.

At least that's what some students at George Washington University are saying. A small campaign has started to bring the disgraced actor to campus to send next year's graduating class into the real world with, we assume, quips about tiger's blood and prostitute sleeping arrangements.

A Facebook page titled Charlie Sheen for Commencement Speaker GWU 2012 has nearly 800 likes (there's an official site, called Winning GW, too).

Similar campaigns have cropped up at West Chester University and the University of Georgia.

What do you think Sheen's best advice for graduates would be? Let us know in the comments section.

Do grads really take what their commencement speaker says to heart? Is it really ever life changing? Why not have a laugh?

Dear Students,
Your first mistake was not being born to a famous actor father, thus having opportunities avail themselves that most others don't get. Truth is, I'd likely be nowhere now if it wasn't for that. So if you don't have Adonis DNA, well, good luck.

"to my fellow graduates--all you have to do to succeed is have a father in the movie business, drop out of high school and act in movies where all the words are written for you"
then cash big checks, buy hookers, good drugs and tell the world life is good

Doesn't speak well for the judgment of the GWU students wanting Sheen to deliver their commencement speech...unless, of course, they want to promote an object lesson in the bad effects of drugs. Shades of Timothy Leary.

In a depoliticized, materialistic, stupid kind of way.

After he's done doing a two hour rant at GWU, Charlie can take his academic regalia, beret, and quill and do a stand-in gig for Glen Beck, when the Beckster goes boating with Charon Angle on the River Styx.

Sheen is being given to much air time !
I want to see more of our brave American in Wisconsin fighting for our rights .

I agree Sheen is given too much attention, and it's likely to fuel his demise for many months and years to come. You do know commenting is part of that fuel right? Also, I'm not certain if I'd call being a union member or protesting in Wisconsin brave. Selfish, yes, brave...no.

His advice -- Let's keep it real. Only way to survive out here. They days of pretending are long gone.

Charlie Sheen to Earn Nearly $2 Million Per Episode

You pay for what you get.

He is already making that much per episode and is demanding $3 million per episode.  And don't forget that he will receive millions in residuals as the show is recycled in syndication for the next thirty years.  If he wanted to, he could probably buy the entire coca output of Bolivia with what he is pulling in, annually.

strangely I think you are correct. as a society we are all showing signs that the addiction is warping our behavior and even affecting our mental processes in a very basic way turning us into something less than human ... just an emptying craving for what doesn't exist.

The Church of Scientology is already bracing itself for a exodus of its members to the ChOCh and his walk-in celebrity centers at one of his 25,000 square foot mansions.  Why be an Operational Thetan at the 7th level and control others actions by mind control, when you hook up with some of the flying critters in Avatar and fly like a god?

Oh my, oh my! What Sheenanigans are on todays' plate? How much longer will it take those drugs to detox so he can land safely from whatever atmosphere he's flying? But, don't clean up too soon Charlie, the media is having too much to report rather than that mean old economic and political B.S. the country is sick and tired of. In fact, they've actually come together as one from all parties to feast on his remains as he detoxes and flails about to our amusement.
