Great flow to the book, but I wouldn't say it was too great.

I thought it was mostly inspired by Lenny Henry.

And it's better as a TV show, which is what it was originally.

Inspired by a story in turn inspired by Chicago.

Nah. Sorry, Neverwhwere´s a good book but it´s London not Chicago.

Decent book, but how about Sanderg's "Chicago Poems" or Wright's "Black Boy."

Neverwhere's a great book, but come on--it's not even set in the United States, let alone Chicago! They could have at least picked one of Jim Butcher's Dresden Files books, for some local interest.

I don't think it's necessary for the book that is chosen to be set in Chicago OR the United States. The people who make the selections (20 thus far) have done a pretty good job, with a mix of classics (10) and contemporary (9) literature, Chicago or midwestern writers (or those with roots or whose works are set in Chicago or the midwest) (7) mixed with those from across the United States (8) and from other countries (5 - one of which sets his books in the United States).

Fantasy world! Hidden city! Magic! But real! And so original!
Is it? Tell us one original thing about it. Just one.

Read it before slagging it. But one original thing - how it´s told!
