As the people of Christchurch continue to rebuild their city and communities, some are using a bit of humor to garner donations for the cause.

The Washington Post's Melissa Bell posted a blog about New Zealand resident Phil Johnson who is auctioning a boulder on TradeMe.com. All proceeds garnered from the bidding will be donated to the Christchurch Earthquake Relief Fund.

The earthquake caused the 30-ton boulder to crash into the side of Johnson's home. He describes it as a "25 - 30 tonne landscape feature (answers to the name Rocky)."

The winning bidder will be able to use the uninvited guest however they would like, but Johnson has some tongue-in-cheek recommendations:

"Suitable for garden feature, or as in our case a magnificent addition to your living area. Rocky will enhance your 'indoor-outdoor' flow considerably, especially if you load him in through the garage roof like we did."

The bidding is up to 8,100 New Zealand dollars. According to his TradeMe profile page, the winning donor will also receive a seven-night stay at the Rocky Point Lodge on Norfold Island.
