Still can't bring yourself to say it. Lol, you're like the kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar, but can't bring himself to say it. There is a reason why the majority of the military back conservatives. It is the conservative who looks after the soldier, it is the conservative who empathizes with their situation, it is the liberal who spits on the soldier and calls them names. You're a hateful lot, c'mon, admit it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just because the people on my side of the political fence supports our troops doesn't necessarily mean we have to support some of the needless wars they fight.

And if your side actually gave a damn about them, you would never have LIED THOROUGH YOUR COLLECTIVE TEETH about Iraq in the first place, getting many of them maimed and killed, then turning your backs on them when they come home because you're too busy shoveling money to your pals on Wall Street and into your own pockets.

As for spitting on the troops, I think you'd need to lecture your fellow "conservatives" over at the so-called Westboro Baptist Church about that--and your fellow GO-Tea-Pers about why they are so silent about their reprehensible and disgusting behavior towards parents burying their loved ones who served.

Typical Neo-Con--always talking a good game about "patriotism"--when it suits you.

How about the people that call President Obama a Muslim, Hitler, Socialist, etc.? Why aren't they being made to apologize. Mr. Brown is exactly right. First they came for the unions, then they came for me. Fascists.

here we go again...republicans never apologize and they have made some of the most hateful comments and don't regret them and then the rest try to out do them.....and every democrat that makes a statement that technically isn't true but uses analogies that the GOP jumps on and they immediately get out and apologize.

Sheep tend to vote wrong but strong over correct and weak.

I think mr. brown is one of the more reasonable and interesting democrats in washington but he went too far and was correct in apologizing.Hitler and stalin were sui-generis in their own ways and we do a disservice to history and political discourse by invoking them to demonize our opponents!

agree mostly....but it is true that the power hungry almost
always go after unions asap.....for their faults they
are usually far fairer and moderate than many
other groups, if only because they
usually are of the people
and democratic....

The Republicans are fascists and need to be called out for their treachery at undermining this nation. Sherrod Brown is correct in his analogy. Their power grab has a strong unrelenting parallel in history to pre-war Germany. England was reasonable until it was bombed. The whole world was reasonable until Hitler plunged the entire world into darkness. If you don't see the nefarious nature of the far radical right then you're blind. They intend to do away with this democratic republic by demonizing it, starving it of funds and by privatizing all of the governments legitimate functions. Sherrod Brown is a HERO for speaking up I admire his courage. Its time to stand up to those radical right anti American pigs. They hate this nation and want to destroy it. Have you ever listened to they hate filled speech and their relentless denigration of American government. The government—of the people, by the people, for the people. They have sold us out to Bankers and corporations just like Hitler did. If anything Sherrod Brown didn't go far enough.

Agreed. I used to shy away from calling them out on this, thinking, 'no, that's just hyperbole,' but it's not. It's the truth. They are fascists in the mold of a Mussolini or a Hitler or a Stalin.

Repubs gets vilified after saying something bad, They embrace it and don't apologize. Dems quickly apologizes before they get vilified and renounces any association, hence being a p@ssy.

It has become impossible in this country for non-rightwingers to say anything that has a ring of unpleasant truth. The Right can call Obama Socialist, Muslim Terrorist, whatever they want and it just gets reported with a straight face, but let a Democrat make a much more realistic comparison and he is shamed to the skies. The right-wing takover in this country bears more than a little resemblance to the takeover of Germany in the 1930s. Pointing that out, however will bring down the wrath of "God" (or maybe the Republicans, I can't keep them straight) on you, and even get your comment bumped from this site.

There is nothing to apologize for, you were only giving context using real-life facts. Besides, we are facing the actual possibility of a "Fourth Reich" now in America: 24/7 fear mongering based on repeated lies and misinformation disseminated over quasi-official media, an opposition emasculated and divided, reactionary forces manipulating the ignorance of a rapidly growing segment of the population, the rest of the population virtually drugged and apolitical... come to think of it you were right on the money!!

Brown ... he is "passionate about fighting for the middle class. Ohio's teachers and nurses and police and firefighters are facing the loss of their collective-bargaining rights, and I think that's wrong." This is the important point and I agree whole heartedly.
"But in speaking about this, I should not have mentioned the hostility of tyrants like Hitler to unions,"
He should certainly mention these hostilities as they certainly are relevant to the situation. He does not need to apologize for his statements. The unions are being decapitated and that is something we need to stop! Anyone or any party involved with type of destruction is engaging in the same concepts as Hitler. He certainly understood that destroying unions meant getting rid of an organizable opposition to his regime and that is exactly what the Republicans are attempting to do!

I'm not sure what your point is? My point is simply that Hitler and Stalin were corporatist and were very much involved in destroying anything and anyone who threaten their power. That is the same case with destroying Unions in the US today. You have to remember that Republicans have always wanted the destruction of unions end of collective bargaining. That is the essense of what's happening in Ohio and Wisconsin right now.
