10 Antelope Reportedly Run-Over, Killed Intentionally Near Wyoming-Colorado Border

10 Antelope Deliberately Run Over Near Wyoming-Colorado Border

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is seeking information regarding the death of ten pronghorn antelope near the Wyoming-Colorado border.

The Game and Fish department told the Rawlins Daily Times over the weekend that the antelopes' deaths were likely caused by a driver who intentionally hit the animals.

KMGH in Denver reported Monday that Game and Fish officials are offering a $5,000 reward for tips that could lead to the driver who allegedly killed the antelopes. No suspect has yet been identified, but officials say that, if authorities can prove the driver acted intentionally, the perpetrator could face charges of taking trophy big game out of season.

While the incident may seem gruesome, it's not the deadiest antelope-related traffic accident in Wyoming's history. 21 pronghorns were killed in a natural gas field in 2007 after authorities say they inexplicably stampeded into a truck.

No charges were files in the 2007 incident, which was written off as an unavoidable freak accident.
