Cyndi Lauper Serenades Airport Passengers In Buenos Aires (VIDEO)

First Posted: 03/07/11 10:28 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 07:35 PM ET

Cyndi Lauper to the rescue! The 80s pop icon calmed a group of angry travelers who were stranded at the Buenos Aires airport Friday by leading them through an impromptu concert, the Daily Mail reports.

Across the airport, flights were canceled and delayed, and Lauper, 57, belted out her hit "Girls Just Want To Have Fun." Lauper was in town on a stop for her world tour.

This isn't the first time a break out concert has started at an airport. In December, a group of carolers commandeered the Vancouver airport and lead travelers in Christmas carols.

Everyone praising Cyndi should go out and watch "Vibes". Her first movie role with Jeff Goldblum and Peter Falk!
(I seem to be one of 5 people to have actually seen that movie.)

OMG! I love that movie! My kids are grown now and they still 'quote' that movie... my son and I watched it a couple of weeks ago, it was just as good after all these years.

Opened for her a couple of times, she's absolutely real and totally unpretentious and cool. This doesn't surprise me a bit! (She even made sure we got a decent sound check.)

At least she can sing live, Rihanna would be hiding this one out.

I saw Cyndi in concert last summer. In addition to her classics, she belted out songs from her new blues album, Memphis Blues. She was amazing! She's got the perfect range, talent, and voice for blues. Still rocking and innovating. Go Cyndi!
