HuffPost Arts' Guide To SXSW | On Our Radar (VIDEOS)

Each year around this time, a large selection of tech-geeks, art-geeks, and music-geeks convene in Texas for South By Southwest, an all-inclusive festival that tickles each of their fancies.

The festival, which runs from March 11 - 20 in Austin, Texas, has three distinct schedules for Music, Film, and Interactive that invite some of the foremost talent from each from around the world to speak, perform, and enlighten. Here's a selection of what's on our radar for this year's SxSW festival from all three parts. Let us know what you're looking forward to most in the comments.

On the music front, there is too much to look forward to and narrowing it down was increasingly difficult as we sifted through the calendar. That said, the performances most likely to get us on a Texas-bound plane include: Das Racist (The Phoenix. Friday March 18, 12:15am) Meiko (St. David's Historic Sanctuary. The best suggestion for SXSW is for everyone to stay as far away from it as possible. The city of Austin doesn't not have the infrastructure or willingness to manage this event's crowds and congestion.

As an Austinite and veteran of 25 years of SXSW, here are some tips-

1- Wear black
2- Keep your smartphone in hand at all times
3- Shop on South Congress Ave (or as the hipsters call it, "SOCO")
4- Eat at Stubbs, Chuys and/or any of the numerous food trailers
5- Cap Metro is a good choice for getting around town
