Dennis Quaid's Pacific Palisades Home For $16.9 Million

The LA Times reports that actor Dennis Quaid is selling his Pacific Palisades estate and "moving back to Texas to be closer to family," but we're not sure why they don't just move out here.

Quaid's eight bedroom, eight-and-a-half bathroom home is 8,400 square feet and sits on almost two acres of land in the Pacific Palisades area. The property has a pool, spa, putting green, horse barn, and corral. The grounds also include a private horse and hiking path that leads to the Will Rogers Park.

According to Architectural Digest, Dennis Quaid purchased this Pacific Palisades compound after his new wife, who moved from Texas to be with him, found his Brentwood home too "suburban." They certainly got what they wanted, but it was probably more than they bargained for:

"The angled barbed wire on the fence is to keep out the coyotes," the actor states, pointing out a six-foot-high enclosure camouflaged with bougainvillea vines. "Then we've got snake wire that goes nine inches into the ground." "When we were out of town," chimes in Kimberly Quaid, "the neighbors called and said, 'There's a mountain lion standing in your driveway.' "
