O'Keefe is a true patriot! He is exposing liberals for what they are and the left hates him for it. If the media wasn't controlled by liberals, he'd be in line for a Pulitzer...
08:25 AM on 03/11/2011
The Media isn't controlled by Liberals it is owned by corporations, He wouldn't get a Pulitzer because there are standards for issuing the prize. The problem the 'right' has with persons who work for media outlets is that they try, or used to try to do something called be objective. This means that facts are stated to illustrate reality. Why poor conservative people believe in a liberal bias in the media is because the facts are usually not flattering to the corporate entity or politician, or religious leader. So in keeping with the divide and conquer mentality the corporatocracy sends the message down the poor conservatives that the media is left leaning. What is actually being illustrated is the people seeking control of the media reacting to objectivity. Every daily newspaper in the country is owned by one of seven multinational corporations, the only liberal bias you see is the occasional fact which surfaces before it is glossed over by spin. You can see this phenomenon with net neutrality. Actual democracy is promoted by the INTERNET, so it too will become the domain of the corporatocracy because it cannot be controlled. The establishment saw its power in electing President Obama. So please, there isn't a liberal bias in the media, unless by liberal you mean bias toward facts. We are supposed to use facts to make our judgments about issues so that we can make informed choices. The Oligarchs want us to fight, why do you think that is.
08:33 AM on 03/11/2011
To make this simple, you are not supposed to get you opinion off of you TV, etc..., you are supposed to watch or read the facts and then form an opinion. Once again. the purpose of the media is to present facts. Our jobs as members of a democracy is the take the most amount of facts about a topic in to our minds, think about them as honestly as we can and THEN start screaming at your friends and relatives if their opinion differs from yours.
Incidentally did you know that Abe Lincoln jumped out of a window to avoid having to vote on some issue. This is a fact that might make you change your opinion, happy thinking..................

So, you use the fact that "the media" is owned by "corporations" as a rebuttal that they are not liberal? Really? Do you even understand what a corporation is? MSNBC, The Nation, Pacifica Radio are all owned by corporations, you saying that they aren't liberal? Wow.

Now that everyone knows what he looks like, his targets should be able to identify him before agreeing to an interview. He is very distinctive looking...unfortunately for him not in a good way.

While true liberals support the entire Bill of Rights, including the Second Amendment, as seen at the following link *, elitist urban snobs occasionally reveal their true prejudice as Barack Obama did when he spoke of Americans "clinging to their guns and religion" and now Schiller reveals the elitist's hoplophobia **.

The MOST important parts of THE story was left out of THIS story!

1. O'Keefe was NOT dressed as a pimp at any ACORN office.
2. O'Keefe edited the video to give the appearence of wrong doing when in FACT none existed!
3. ACORN did NOT violate or break any laws, or do what the video purports!
4. The film was used to decieve the public and its lawful Representives into defaming and destroying a 40 year American non-profit organization that helped American citizens participate in THEIR government!

THAT is to be applauded??????????

Lying to and decieving American citizens into stopping American's from doing what is the duty of EVERY American to do ...participate in THEIR democracy!

THIS story IS a showcase of the FAILURE of today's journalism .... to report complete, factual, and in context the events it claims to be reporting!!

Welcome to Republican tea bagger Nation ... where lies and deception ARE the "real" America's way!

Fox News' response to O'Keefe arrest: A handful of brief reports, utter silence on prime-time 'opinion' shows

By David Neiwert

Whenever a liberal figure or a non-Fox media outlet (also known as "the liberal media") is caught in any kind of screwup or criminal activity, it quickly becomes the No. 1 Topic of Discussion at Fox...

When right-wingers are caught with their pants down (e.g., see John Cornyn) or in the cr!minal cookie jar, there's minor mumbling, a few quick reports, and then silence at Fox.

How did they handle the news that their beloved Hot Young Investigative Journalist, James O'Keefe, Slayer of ACORN, had been arrested by the FBI for attempting to wiretap the offices of Sen. Mary Landrieu.

A brief report on Shep Smith's news show, followed by a similarly brief overview on Special Report with Bret Baier, and then wrapped up a short segment on Greta Van Susteren's show, in which she mentioned that O'Keefe had appeared on Fox "many times."

But on Fox's prime-time opinion shows, its big ratings drivers, the shows that had most avidly promoted O'Keefe and his brand of "investigative journalism" -- Glenn Beck, The O'Reilly Factor, and Hannity -- there was nothing. Not. A. Single. Word.

Color me surprised.

I saw that report on Fox. Every show mentioned it. David is Iying about that.

What's funny is "the Liberal media" barely even mentioned the Acorn story when it broke.

So when CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS, NPR, NYT, LAT etc etc do a media blackout on a story... and only Fox covers it... what does that tell you about US media?

No wonder Fox is kiIIing all of them in the ratings.

The clusterFOXed caters to the undereducated who cannot think for themselves...they thrive on lies..

Fox is the central hub of the conservative movement's well-oiled media machine.  Keeping the ClusterFOXed uninformed is the conservative's goal.....

Years ago, Republican party chair Rich Bond explained that conservatives' frequent denunciations of "liberal bias" in the media were part of "our strategy"

When Fox debuted in 1996, a curious thing happened: Instead of denouncing it, conservative politicians and activists lavished praise on the network.  George Bush extolled Fox News "impressive journalism".

The right-wing Heritage Foundation staffers watch FOX 24/7.......kinda says it all......

Together with other GOP organizations, think tanks and advocacy groups, it's a network rightwing partisan outlets--it has become a highly effective right-wing echo chamber where GOP/rightwing "news" stories are promoted, repeated and amplified.
Yet, somehow FOX "bristles" at the slightest suggestion of a conservative tilt, wrapping itself in the slogan "Fair and balanced".  Fox's strategy of aggressive denial and lies has worked surprisingly well with its unblinking refusal to admit any conservative tilt.

Fox's founder/president, Ailes, is the saviest  and most pugnacious Republican political operatives in Washington, a veteran of the Nixon and Reagan campaigns. He crafted the elder Bush's media strategy in the bruising 1988 presidential race.

Ailes brought  to Fox right-wing talk radio and below-the-belt political campaigning-- his stamp is evident in all aspects of the network's programming.

The most obvious sign of Fox's slant is its heavily right-leaning punditry from theWall Street Journal editorial pages and the conservative Manhattan Institute, former chief speechwriter for the first Bush administration, editorial-page editor of the right-wing New York Post. Fox News Channel's senior vice president is John Moody, a long-time journalist known for his staunch conservative views.

Fox's managing editor, Brit Hume, a veteran contributor to the conservative American Spectator and Weekly Standard magazines.  Andrew Kirtzman, a respected New York City cable news reporter, was interviewed with Fox and management wanted to know what his political affiliation was. When Kirtzman refused to tell his party ID, "all employment discussion ended".

Catherine Crier, who was perceived as one of Fox's most prestigious and credible early hires, was an elected Republican judge. Pundit Mara Liasson--who is touted as an on-air "liberal" sits on the board of the conservative Freedom House.

Lol.. David Neiwert wrote that ridiculous book, "The Eliminationists"

Which is essentially a whiny book about how the right is winning the big arguments of the day... and David portrays it as some c0nspiracy theory where the right is trying to eliminate the left. He is a non-smart individual.
