Teacher Tera Myers Revealed To Be Former Porn Star Rikki Andersin For Second Time, Resigns

KFVS reports that science teacher Tera Myers has resigned from Parkway North High School in St. Louis, Mo. after students discovered her past career in the porn industry.

Paul Tandy, spokesman for the Parkway School District, told the New York Daily News:

"We're surprised, very surprised. At the same time we feel for her and her family. We do believe she has tried to move on with her life... Unfortunately, even though it happened 15 years ago, [the video] is still there."

Myers spent some of the mid-1990s known as Rikki Andersin, and made at least one porn title under that name.

In 2006, she was working as a science teacher in Kentucky under the name Tericka Dye when her past was brought to the school's attention. She also taught the school's volleyball team as a physical education coach.

After being put on suspension, KFVS reports that she held a brief press conference, saying:

"I'm a girl from the wrong side of the tracks who's made a lot of bad decisions in life. Anybody who's been in my classroom could tell you how much I love teaching and how much I love these students, and that should be what matters more than anything in my past."

Myers also appeared on the Dr. Phil talk show on Dec. 6, 2006, saying that her brief stint in porn was the biggest mistake of her life.

While as adults we can say she deserves her job, imagine what it would be like to see your teacher in a sex scene? would you still view them as role models or respect them? Would they be able to command the respect needed?

As long as she was doing her job and not letting her past interfere with her performance, then I say, "Who cares?" She is not near the sinner as much as the teachers unions that are bankrupting this country.

Boy. This story was reported so thoroughly and with such zeal!!! Too bad that this same type of journalistic professionalism was not followed when the banks were stealing right under our eyes. It just goes to show that the media preys on the weak (financially incapable of fighting back) and respects those with enough money to sue.

Interesting. We're very sanctimonious (as long we don't get caught ourselves), and won't allow such a person to teach our kids. And we won't allow redemption if someone tries change their life for the better. Yay us!

I feel this woman has been unfairly treated, We all make mistakes and do things we are not proud, especially when we are young. I know I did some really dumb things when I was 22.As for the kids who found this porn on the internet, where were their parents? What were they doing while their kids were surfing the web for porn??? All I'm saying is we're all so bloody perfect!!!!

This woman had already tried changing names and hiding from her real past. It didn't work and she disrupted the childrens' learning at that school.

She should have just moved on. But no -- she decided to try the same scheme again. And again, she has not been a help to student learning but rather, a hindrance.

It's clear this woman makes bad choices for her self and for the people around her. Teaching children is obviously another bad choice because this woman does not learn from her mistakes.

I disagree. In both cases she taught for years without an issue. When she did have an issue, she was replaced. Story ended. And ANYONE, ANYONE who has ever consumed porn, especially more than once in their life, has ZERO right to judge her. They are a part of that business too, but no one points to them for doing it.

Well, she hurt herself. I think that's pretty clear. These childrens' schooling was disrupted. We cannot know who all was hurt or in what ways, but it's simply not true to say she "didn't hurt anyone."

So, what do you say about the students that found the porn? Where they looking for it? Is taht okay? Seems to me that the teacher sought some sort of redemption, while the students taht went around snooping are not being assailed. "Didn't someone once say: Let he who is without sin cast the first stone?"

I'm one of those few people that believe to forgive any stupid actions done before age 25 - i.e. too much alcohol, bad relationships, bad fashion, bad jobs, sexting (before the word was coined), etc.
