Guantánamo Bay: A Rare Peek Inside The Notorious Detention Center (VIDEO)

President Barack Obama's recent announcement that military commission trials would resume at Guantánamo Bay after a two-year suspension is being slammed by some as a political about-face and a dangerous return to Bush-era policies.

As the New York Times is reporting, the White House says the president remains committed to closing Guantánamo, but notes that "it seems likely that the prison camp will remain a scar on the nation's conscience for years."

The BBC's Washington correspondent Andrew North was allowed an inside peek into the legendary detention center, which has held some of the most notorious criminals from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
