Jennifer Aniston In 'The Goree Girls': Will She Sing?

Jennifer Aniston

MEXICO CITY — Actress Jennifer Aniston says some non-comedy movie projects are in her future, including a film based on the true story of an all-female country-western band that formed at a Texas prison in the 1940s.

Aniston says the band was "sort of the Dixie Chicks of their time."

No production or release dates have been set for the project, tentatively titled "The Goree Girls."

After starring in a string of romantic comedies such as "Just Go With It," Aniston may be turning her sights to more serious fare. Another project, tentatively called "Counterclockwise," may focus on the studies of Ellen Langer, a renowned Harvard psychology professor.

Aniston was in Mexico City on Thursday to promote her new perfume, which bears her name.

Too late Jen. You're a one trick pony and no one is going to take you seriously. Everytime I look at her picture I see every picture she's ever made....lonely single gir/woman looking for love. Hmmm, life imitating art?

She's pretty but waaaaaay overrated.

Not real sure why you assume she's lonely. Are you her bff who she confides in? No? I didn't think so.
You know, I adore my husband but some of my happiest memories are of being an unattached adult and I wasn't rich and desired by 80 percent of the male population.

Wait... I didn't realize those movies were comedies.

Yeah, they were silent (audience reaction) comedies.

I think she'd be good as "Ma", as in Ma and Pa Kettle.

Time for a re-make, who would play Pa?

I cant wait to see "Rachel goes to Harvard" and "Arrested Rachel sings and....oh wait...yes, she still has an amazing hair".

By the way, do you know what Ellen Langer studies are about?

Yes...Jennifer Aniston is the obvious choice for this movie.

Poor thing....she's desparately hanging on by her finger nails. Give it up Jen...making your hair blonder doesn't help either...the world's just not that into you!

Maybe it's good that she's not doing comedy films for a while. Her comedy ones are terrible! She was good in The Good Girl, which was drama.

She really was. I had such high hopes for her after that. The smartest stars seem to balance Indy between blockbuster to maintain acting chops cred.

MYGOD!! Jen has revived this as a new venture every year of the last five years. She can't get any one to back her and she won't get up off any of her personal wealth for anything!!!

Since she can not act I guess trying something different makes sense, at some level.

I don't understand with all the millions she has that she just does not finance the film she wants to do. She can afford to produce an Independent film for a few millions. We have just seen several Oscar winning films that were quality and were not that expensive to make.

She has a Production Company that is not really producing. I see other actresses putting up money to make the films that can showcase their abilities.

I think she is a bit scared to go outside the box. Which is a bit off considering she has been in this business for many years. Regardless of whether people think she looks "good for her age" the fact is she is 42.. and roles for women is not that vast. Especially when you are know to only play a certain type of role. But maybe this is all she wants for herself.
