Michael Scott

Michael Scott, you've got seven weeks left. Then, you're officially out of Dunder Mifflin.

Steve Carell, who announced this summer that the seventh season of his hit show "The Office," would be his last, will officially appear in his last episode on April 28th, according to TV Guide. It's a big night for NBC, as it's the first night in May sweeps week.

After Carell's final episode, there are four more episodes to the show's season -- during which, fans hope, they name Carell's successor as the big guy at the paper company.

The star, who is leaving to focus on his film career, filmed his last episode on March 6th. While they'll mourn their awkward yet lovable leader's loss, "Office" fans will at least have a four episode cameo from Carell's friend Will Ferrell to which to look forward.

Ah, sweeps. Now, I really understand why they're having him leave earlier than the end of the season.

Last episode date revealed! Exclamation points make an already exciting story almost too much to handle!

It would be nothing but awesome brilliant if CHARLIE SHEEN took his job at the office. The office needs a kick in the rear and no other replacement could be better!

Wow! I can't wait to keep not watching.

That was really helpful. I'll call the network and advise them to cancel the show just for you.

The first several episodes of the show that I watched made me cringe with embaresment at the things he said and did-now that is acting! But as for his movies, they did nothing for me, too bad, I think his role as Michael Scott is perfect for him. He still makes me feel yucky at some of the things he says, as for his replacement, please not Will Ferrell!

"Leaving to focus on his film career".

Man, that requires more focus than humanly possible. He is hysterical on The Office, but outside of "The 40 Year Old Virgin", in which he's the moderately funny "straight man", his movies are absolute garbage.

Just tried to sit through "Date Night" on HBO. Not one single laugh.

Harsh. Anchorman was amazing. Little Miss Sunshine was good. I'm not into animated movies, but Despicable Me and Over the Hedge were well-received. Seems like "garbage" is a bit over the top. Though, I did hear that Date Night was unbearable.

Yes he was in Anchorman and did a very OK job as did all those support actors----it was not his movie to carry.

Now I have not seen that Dinner movie as of yet-----but most of his movies where he is the star----pretty unwatchable for me. OK at best I should say.

There is a market for him----not me----but elsewhere----and I assume he will have a fine career.

But when he dies----it will be his role on the Office that will be the lead in his obit.

He has peaked.

My kids also like that Horton Hears a Who...but that's them.

I'm hoping that by "devoting more time" he means also doing some of the writing and development aspects and not just screen time.
