Wilhelmina Launches Model Search For Women 40 & Older

Wilhelmina has launched a model search for women 40 and older, Styleite reports.

The competition, co-sponsored by Macy's and Miraclesuit, kicked off on Thursday, and applicants have until May 24 to enter -- either online (not through HuffPost, sorry!) or by attending one of the four open calls. According to the website, "The grand prize winner will receive a Wilhelmina modeling contract, a photo shoot and $1,000 wardrobe courtesy of Miraclesuit, a $1,000 Macy's gift card, a (1) year supply of Trimwater, and a makeover by Randall Christensen, the Emmy Award winning costume designer of Dancing With the Stars."

And from the rules:

• There are NO height or size restrictions.
• Models under contract with a competitive model management company or who have earned more than25,000 in modeling fees in any one year during the last ten years are ineligible.

Awesome! We can't wait to see who wins...and hopefully, which runway she ends up on.

While we are at it....how about a campaign to stop using models in their late teens, early 20s in commercials about anti-wrinkle cremes! I mean...please, use people who actually have wrinkles. I'm in my 40s and don't even use the stuff, much less when I was younger!

I remarked on this article to some of the ladies who are over 40 and are fit in my indoor cycle class this morning at the gym. I think the three of them should have a go at this since you could not tell from the eye there in the early to mid 40's.

Guy's there are many beautiful women in the 40's who are smart and independent and would make great companions.

I don't know what it's about women who are in their mid 30s-late 40s. There is a glare to them. I find mature women more sexually attractive than women in my age group(early 20s).

Studies show that women don't reach their sexual peak until a few years before menopause.

The best sex is with a woman toned and fit and intelligent in her thirties or forties. And there are many out there. And to be sarcastic and add to your list, jo smith 456, how about Tina Turner who is in her fifties and has a body and dynamism of so-called young cuties / models. Sheesh!!

Actually TIna Turner is in her 60's and HOTTER THAN ANY 20 YEAR OLD. When I grow up I want to look like Tina!
