Bill Spooner Sues Jon Krawczynski: NBA Ref Reportedly Suing AP Writer Over Tweet

Posted: Updated:

Apparently there is one referee who is tired of getting criticized.

ESPN reported on Monday night that NBA referee Bill Spooner is suing Associated Press writer and Minnesota Timberwolves beat reporter Jon Krawczynski over a critical tweet posted during a game against the Houston Rockets on Jan. 24.

According to the report, Timberwolves coach Kurt Rambis argued with Spooner over a foul call and asked "how his team was supposed to get the two points back." The ref claims he didn't respond, but Krawczynski posted on twitter that Spooner promised to give Minnesota a "make-up call."

"Ref Bill Spooner told Rambis he'd 'get it back' after a bad call," Krawczynski reportedly tweeted. "Then he made an even worse call on Rockets. That's NBA officiating folks."

The Rockets went on to beat the Wolves 129-125.
