Diane Sawyer has left japan, ABC News announced Wednesday. She had been there since Sunday.
"Good Morning America" co-host George Stephanopoulos announced on the air that Sawyer "is on her way back from the quake zone to continue covering the story from New York." TVNewser reported that Sawyer is leaving because the situation at the Fukushima nuclear power plant has deteriorated so drastically. She is expected to be back in New York on Wednesday night to anchor "World News."
