Victoria's Secret Photochops Another Model (PHOTOS, POLL)

Surprise, surprise -- another Victoria's Secret airbrushing snafu.

The Photochoppers over at everyone's favorite lingerie brand did quite a number on model Candice Swanepoel's left side, where her waist meets her arm. We wish we could just, oh say, whittle ourselves down like that pre-summer and step out in a bandeau top. Alas, it's slightly more complicated when you're dealing with actual human anatomy. Bummer!

photoshopped or not, that woman just seems anatomically incorrect. if i were a guy, i don't think i'd find that very attractive. too angular and poky.

I think it's possible that this wasn't photoshopped to alter the curve. I'm not saying definitely either way, but I've seen plenty of pictures where a model twists a certain way, arches, whatever, and the photo comes out looking like part of them disappeared.

Hurm, I'm pretty sure this is sensationalism. My girlfriend who eats 4-5 proper meals a day and eats chocolate like crazy, body wise, looks like that and because of the width of her hips in contrast to her rib cage (her bone structure) if she curved herself like that and placed her arm to cover the point of curvature it looks exactly like that. We took a picture to check lol. So stop knocking the poor girl and making HER just as self concious as all the ppl your trying to make feel better about themselves. Because I promise you, she is just as self concious about being too thin as people are about being too fat.

Is there some reason that they couldnt have used her already abnormally skinny waist? Honestly, we hear about all the eating disorders that run rampant through the modeling industry and they still have to make her even thinner than that?? Not only does this kind of chopping of 6 inches off someone's side have a sad effect on women's self-esteem, it teaches men to expect that this is what a beautiful girl, a girl they can be proud of, looks like. They then spend their entire life disrespecting real women in search of non-existant arm candy!

It's not just the waistline that looks strange. Check out the oddly-shaped blotch of darker tone on her left shoulder. They didn't even bother to smooth that out or blend it into the rest of the skin tone.

Ugh. I modeled professionally in Los Angeles & Japan for a few years...way back when. I quit. Why? Because my photos in my portfolio were soooo airbrushed...so "perfect"...that I became anxiety-ridden when I had to meet anyone in person! People would say "it doesn't even look like her." GREAT FOR THE SELF-ESTEEM, EH? Not. It's a really SICK TWISTED BUSINESS. I feel sad for young girls growing up in this day & age of "everything fake." I love to tell the truth. THOSE VICTORIA'S SECRET GIRLS R BEAUTIFUL...BUT THEY HAVE CELLULITE & ZITS, TOO.

Regardless of Photoshop, Victoria's Secret perpetuates an body type that less that 1% of the population actually has after age 12! I'm sorry but regardless of "ideal" body type, I like my friggin' food and the rest of the beauty world be damned!

This is not a PS issue. This is a pose issue and model issue. When you have a model this skinny then you have her twist a bit to the right and thrust her hip forward. Then place her arm with the bracelets over the same area it gives the illusion of her hips being off center thus looking PS-ed. After working in this industry as both a Photographer and Photoshop person I can tell you this is not a PS issue and more of a Model and pose issue. This is the wrong pose for this model. What is scary is that SP let this image slip in. Usually they are much better at eliminating photos. Which makes me wonder if they didn't have much to work with and spent a ton of money. Thus letting it slide.
