Tiger Woods And Jimmy Fallon Talk Scandal Jokes, New Video Game On 'Late Night' (VIDEO)

First Posted: 03/17/11 09:23 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:40 PM ET

Tiger Woods was a guest on Wednesday's "Late Night," his first appearance on a Late Night comedy show since 2009.

Jimmy Fallon immediately asked Woods what he has been up to during the last year and a half. The golf star laughed and said he was "playing bad golf."

Fallon then thanked Tiger for coming on the show and for providing his monologue writers with plenty of jokes during his scandal.

"Thank you for having the courage to come on a late-night comedy program, because it must have been a painful and awful situation, the whole thing you went through," Fallon said. "But from a comedian's standpoint and my monologue writers, thank you! So much! It kind of wrote itself. I mean, balls, shafts, holes, foursomes. It really writes itself. Thank you! Thank you!"

The two also discussed Tiger's home and his new video game "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters."

It would help Jimmy Fallon as a talk show host if he'd actually ask the guest questions instead of talk to him like he's an obsessed fan.

Can somebody please tell me what Tiger did that was so wrong that people hate him. We all have friends and family members who have or is currently cheating on thier spouse. im not saying its right but do you all condemn them too. Does what Tiger do in his personal life really effects yours to the point you all have such a strong hatred for him.Plus his wife looked like she was stingy with the goods anyway lol.

Stingy with the goods? Time to go find yourself a porn star it sounds like. Are all men like this?

It's not really as much about the cheating, but more about the way he treated the women he was with and the sheer amount of women he was with during his marriage. When you get married it's supposed to be monogamous. If you don't want a monogamous relationship, then don't have one. I just don't get why guys get married at all if all they want is something new all the time. I personally think sex with strangers or new people isn't all that great. Sex with someone you love, that you've learned over years and years of experimenting, is way more fulfilling.

Tiger spent his entire life sheltered from the real world. And when his dad died, he tested out the real world, and found that he was totally lacking in experience. He paid for his excellence in golf, with a complete lack of skill in his personal life. So now he's trying to sort it out. The haters will always be there because of his money and fame and all the commercials. But I'm rooting for him as a person, not so he'll win more golf tournaments, but so his kids will have a good dad. Go Tiger.

I watched that and swear I've never seen a bigger stiff on a talk show. He couldn't even laugh at the jokes when they were blatantly shilling his latest Wii game for him.

Elin is not laughing. And in time, Tiger's kids won't be laughing either at the destruction of their family.

I wonder if Tiger even cares if he is a laughing stock to everyone in the free world???

It's amazing that among 350mm people we can't pick a president that inspires us ALL. It's also amazing that we have to hold guys like Tiger up as a sports hero. Let's move on. Inspirational sports heroes should inspire us on and off the field. Let's not measure them just by the number of majors they win. If we do it's like rooting for the jerk that wins at a friendly gathering. At the end of the day it's just not that important.

Many people make that mistake when they sit in the pews on Sundays. They expect their pastor or priest to be perfect. When they find out that he/she is not, they're disenfranchised with religion and their personal relationship with God suffers.

We root for sports athletes because they excel at their craft. We understand the sacrifice it takes to be that good at something.

To expect anything more is to set yourself up for a let down. False idols always let people down.

No need to set your expectations so low. They folks are celebrated beyond your wildest imagination. They are deified more than any of your pastors. They should live up to a higher standard for kids and the rest of us. Federer, Nadal, Montana, Ashe, Palmer,...There are many we can look up to. We don't need the Tigers, Vicks, or Roses.

I admire them for doing athletically what I can't on the field of play. When they walk off, they're just men and that's how I see them.
