U.S. Military Team To Advise Japan On Nuclear Hazards

(Reuters) - The Pentagon said on Thursday it was sending a nine-member team specializing in biological and nuclear hazards to advise Japan's military.

Pentagon spokesman Colonel Dave Lapan also said Defense Secretary Robert Gates had authorized up to $35 million in initial humanitarian assistance to Japan from the U.S. military.
