Glenn Beck: Obama Is 'Sympathetic' To Terrorists' 'Cause' (AUDIO)

First Posted: 03/18/11 08:57 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:40 PM ET

Glenn Beck

Glenn Beck said that President Obama is "sympathetic" to the cause of terrorists because he agrees with their analysis of America's role in the world.

Speaking on his Thursday radio show, Beck brought up the situations in Libya and Japan and said that Obama has not been actively involved in either. He felt that this was a pattern with the president, and cited the BP oil spill as an example of Obama's dithering. His co-host, Pat Gray, said he thought Obama had been slow to react to the Fort Hood shooting as well. Beck said he felt that was due to a different quality of the president's.

"I believe that's because he just sees us as the oppressor nation," Beck said. "He just sees us as a nation who is and has oppressed the Native Americans and, and the Muslim communities around the world. And so he's...not with the terrorists, I'm not saying that, but he is sympathetic to their cause, which slows people down. You know what I mean?"

He quickly clarified. "I'm not saying that he's sympathetic with people blowing up," he said. "...I'm not saying that he's in league with the terrorists, I'm not saying that he agrees with bombings like that. But he is slower to react because he is a guy who is sympathetic to something that most Americans are not."

No jerko, he's slower to react because he's not a knee jerk hawk. He doesn't take enormously difficult, important and consequential decisions lightly.
Of course, for pea brains like you who shoot from the hip, that's totally incomprehensible.

Why does Glenn Beck refuse to take-on knowledgable (emphasis placed) interviewers and opponents? I may strongly disagree with Bill O'Reilly, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul but I respect them because they willingly take the tough questions from journalists and philosophical opponents.
The only explanation I can offer for Glenn Beck's refusal is fear. Beck realizes he would be utterly humiliated. I can think of no other reason. Part of Beck's success with his small, but rabidly loyal fan-base is his claim that he's just a "regular guy" with no particular expertise. I suppose his target demographic "relates" to that "Everyman" persona Beck has worked so hard to perfect. Afterall, Beck is a former disc-spinning radio DJ. Those guys were forced to periodically change their persona when moving from one station to another. They learned which personas worked and which ones didn't. Whether moving from one genre to another or changing locales, they had to adapt. There's nothing wrong with that. But, Beck has entered a completely different realm. He's now a political talk-show host. When Beck, the "King of Innuendo", makes those outrageous claims, statements of facts and interpretations of current and historical events, he should "man-up" and face the hard questions rather than hide. Obviously, no one can force Beck to venture outside his "safe-house" (especially after "The View" embarrassment). He has made a fortune without having to back-up his claims. I guess his fans don't want to see their hero humiliated.

Mr. Beck seems to spend a lot of time talking about what he's "not saying"...... everything he says is like "I'm not saying, i'm just saying"

Yeah, he's not saying Obama is a Muslim or a Socialist or .......he's just saying.

Yes Glenn, he's sympathetic to something: thinking things through.

Obama has ordered more drone strikes on terrorists in Pakistan than Bush. Regardless of whether or not you see that as a good move (drones do tend to kill civilians more than other methods), saying he's "sympathetic to terrorists" is insane.

Glen Beck= Archie Bunker strapped to a seat at a trans-gender abortionists' convention.

(obscure humor)

Info: The name of the television character of Archie Bunker ('All in the family') comes from world war 1 military slang:
Archie (German anti-aircraft fire)
Bunker (a dug-out fortification)

(obscure fact)

No Beck. Those of us with a brain and who can think for ourselves don't know what you mean. You make no sense when you spew out your well intended idi0cy.
