McClatchy:

For nearly three years, the military held the key to Roger House's exoneration and didn't tell him: A forensics examiner had botched a crucial lab test used in the Navy lieutenant's court-martial.

Less than 200 comments about this while over 1000 comments have been made about Tiger's new girlfriend. I think we have a priority problem.

Knowing Tiger's history, his new "girlfriend" must be dummer (sic) than a box of rocks. Does she think she's the special one who's going to change him? Hahahahahahahahaha

It's really sad that americans (thems the dum ones) care more about this than how our country is run. Talk about frogs in the pot!

Covering up wrongdoing must be some inate human characteristic since it always seems to be everyone's first impulse.

And yet both Republicans and some democrats seem to think the military can conduct fair trials.

The falsification of evidence by an Army forensics laboratory is not important as long as the Pentagon's Office of Coverups and Misinformation is functioning well.

Under the Bush administration, too many bad guys were doing bad things without proper supervision or clarification. Mur-derers were being set free while innocent people were being sent to the de-ath chambers. Bush, himself, sealed an innocent guys fate, remember? We will be uncovering Bush's dirt and gore for many more years to come so don't think this is the last of it by any means. I'm just glad this information has finally come to light and maybe some innocent people will be let out of prison. What a disgrace and a shame!

"I'm just glad this information has finally come to light and maybe some innocent people will be let out of prison."

Problem lies with the lost evidence, if they don't have the evidence, they can't retest it. I personally think they should release anyone who is in prison based on evidence supplied by this man, immediately!

That's why the republic party is so PO'd about the DOJ not wasting time defending DOMA. They may now have time to delve into these real issues and expose those who need to be exposed! I hope they found the bushcheney moles and got rid of them.

Here's another that fits the new millenium.

Enoch book 5 chapt 100 verse 2

For a man shall not withhold his hand from slaying his sons and his son's sons
And the sinner shall not withhold his hand from his honoured brother
From dawn til sunset shall they slay one another.
10
He will summon to testify against you every cloud and mist and dw and rain, for they shall all be withheld because of you from descending upon you and they shall be mindful of your sins
Chap 102 verse 1 - 3
Now I swear to you the righteous by the glory of the Great and Honoured and 2Mighty One and by His greatness I swear to you
I know a mystery
And have read the heavenly tablets
And have seen the holy books
And have found written there in and inscribed regarding them
3 That all goodnes and joy and glory are prepared for them
and written down for hte spirits of those who hae died in righteousnes
And that manifold good shall be given you in recompense for your labours
And that you lot is aboundantly beyond "the lot of the living."

This lab analyst needs to spend some quality time with his friends -- in prison!
11:25 AM on 03/21/2011
If you read the full report, this military crime lab made major mistakes over a period of years! It is shocking and horrible for the people falsely imprisoned that there was no oversight to catch these serious breaches. The lab worker must have been known to people close to him to be a total screw up - why the long silence?

This suggests that all cases prosecuted on evidence from this lab need to be re-reviewed and possibly retried. What a horrible tragedy for innocent people who volunteered to serve in our military.

This is just another example of how f'ed up our government is. Instead of handling this situation when problems first arose, they let it go and now more than a million dollars later (at a time when the government is defunding programs like WIC) there can be no way to tell how many innocent men are in jail and how many guilty men are free. I think the only thing they can do is let every single person free that was convicted with this man's lab work if that work can not be confirmed because the evidence has been destroyed. Then this man should go to jail in their place.

I have little doubt that this revelation is the tip of an iceberg that infects many civilian labs as well as the military lab in question.
Prosecutorial zeal creates an atmosphere of “guilty until proven innocent” in all too many cases.
All moral issues aside, what right-thinking person can support the de@th penalty when evidence can be so easily mishandled?

Professional military is very good at protecting itself. Here's another reason for mandatory service for everyone.

You approve of slavery?
02:11 PM on 03/21/2011
No! Mandatory service is not slavery you get paid and you would not necessarily have to serve in the military. What is means is that after high school every American, no matter their family's income bracket has to put two years serving the nation is some capacity. It would be nice is they have the choice to serve in overseas locations so they have a chance to see how the majority of the population of the world lives.
