Photographer and collector, Wladyslaw Zuchowski, claims he is in possession of a daguerreotype image of Frédéric François Chopin in his death bed in 1849. Zuchowski is keeping the name of the collector in Scotland from whom he purchased the image a secret adding to the speculation that it is a hoax. Louis-Auguste Bisson, a renowned 19th century French photography pioneer, is said to be the man behind the camera. Were this to be real, the image wouldn't be the first he took of Chopin but would make it one of only three photographs in existence of the late composer.
Zuchowski says he will share the negative with the world through various exhibitions. What do you think? Hoax or not?
