The National Republican Senatorial Committee is out with a web ad targeting Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) over recent reports suggesting she used taxpayer money to pay for air travel on a private plane partially owned by her and her husband.

The ad, which is edited to look like a trailer for a Hollywood thriller, contrasts news clips highlighting the charges with footage of McCaskill delivering statements about accountability and transparency. It also features clips of President Barack Obama alongside the senator commending her for her service to the people of Missouri.

"If my walk doesn't match my talk, then shame on me and don't ever vote for me again," McCaskill says in a clip at the end of the ad. Text then flashes across the screen, directing viewers to a website where they can sign a petition asking the senator to answer a number of questions about the transactions at issue.

Politico reported on Monday that McCaskill disclosed plans to "sell the damn plane" in the wake of the controversy. The senator also admitted to reporters that she had failed to pay personal property taxes on the airplane in recent years. The sum of unpaid funds reportedly amounted to $287,000.
