Denver Police Union Wants Court To Prevent Firing In DeHerrera Case

The union representing Denver's police officers has challenged the process that led to Chief Gerald Whitman's recommendation that an officer accused of excessive force be fired.

Former Safety Manager Ron Perea gave Officer Devin Sparks, who was caught on videotape grabbing and throwing Michael DeHerrera to the ground as DeHerrera spoke on a cellphone, a three-day suspension on April 19.
