Sarah Vowell On Daily Show: The Year The U.S. Became An 'Orgy Of Imperialism'
Last night, Jon Stewart interviewed best-selling author Sarah Vowell on "The Daily Show" about her new book "Unfamiliar Fishes."
The new book covers the annexation of Hawaii. Vowell described how the U.S. first became a world superpower, an "orgy of imperialism," in 1898, when it took over Cuba, the Philippines, Guam and Puerto Rico.
Stewart praised Vowell's work, stating, "I laugh, but I learn."
