I once played golf with Buck Owens. In the course of idle tee box chit chat, he told me he'd been married 2 1/2 times. I pressed him on the 1/2 marriage story and here's what he told me. He was not a drinker. It wasn't that he'd been a dinker and had to quit, he just never really started. However, one night after a show in Las Vegas he got to drinking tequilla with his band memebers and ended the night by marrying his (female) "fiddle player" (to quote him). They both soon realized this was a mistake, but it still cost him several months and $250K to get out of.

Great story about Buck Ownens. My wife used to do some television shows in Bakersfield with him and really thought he was a very nice man. However, she does love to tell the story about walking past the trailer of his band, when, it became a "If its a'rockin', don't come a'knockin'" moment. She still likes to call them Buck Owens and the F...eroos.

My all-time favorite short-lived marriage was that of Ethel Merman and Ernest Borgnine. Britney Spears and Mao Tse-Tung would have had a better chance of making it.

If you were an employer, would you hire someone who was fired from their job after a few days? Chances are, that would be a huge red flag. In the case of someone like Lopez who cheated, it amazes me that any woman want to marry him.

I am amazed that anyone is amazed. Not really knowing, I would speculate that any woman who wants Mario Lopez really doesn't care about his prior relationships and might just think she is the perfect match for him and is the only one that can make him happy while making herself happy as well. That's not so difficult to see as a possibility.
