CHICAGO — CEO Jeremy L. Halbreich has been named to the added role of chairman of Sun-Times Media Holdings, which owns the Chicago Sun-Times and other newspapers.
Halbreich succeeds James Tyree, who died last week at 53 after battling stomach cancer for months.
Halbreich, 59, is a former general manager of The Dallas Morning News. He's been vice chairman and chief executive officer at Sun-Times Media. He'll keep the CEO title.
Halbreich calls his appointment "a wonderful and very flattering endorsement by our investors of our entire management team and all the employees."
