Kirstie Alley Calls For George Lopez's Kidney After Host Attempts Pig Apology

It started with hooves. Now, the knives -- and perhaps scalpels -- are coming out.

George Lopez started a firestorm on Tuesday night, comparing Kirstie Alley to a pig while highlighting her successful "Dancing With The Stars" performance from the previous evening. Alley did not respond kindly to the taunt, taking to Twitter to strike back.

On Thursday evening, Lopez made an attempt to apologize, but Alley was having none of it. It's not words she wants, it's body parts.

"I misjudged the joke. No malice was intended and I apologize to Kirstie," Lopez tweeted. In response, Alley wrote, "@georgelopez I don't need or want ur apology...I want your kidney dude..on behalf of ur X and all the women uv insulted...give it back."

Yikes. It's a back and forth that has escalated from a harsh commentary from Lopez. "She did a nice job, her little hooves tapping away," Lopez said on his show. "Before the show she went to the market, then she had roast beef, and this is her going all the way home," he continued before cutting to a video of a pig squealing, from a recent Geico commercial.

Alley at first took a semi-high road; her response Thursday read, "Don't worry about George's comments...just remember what happens to the big bad, drunk woolf...falls in a boiling pot of vodka.Piggy laughs."

Any civility between the two, it seems, is on its way out.

I guess we can't joke about a woman's weight without half of America getting offended. There is a double standard when it comes to trashing men vs trashing women.

Comparing someone to a pig is insulting on many levels, not just weight. And I don't think there is a double standard at work. Its just that women are much more sensitive to insults about certain things (like weight, looks and age), than men are. Its a cultural thing. Like how men generally thought to become more attactive with age, whereas women are not. Thus, women are more likely to be insulted when it comes to jokes about age.

I think Kirstie would have laughed if he was funny. Problem is, George is hardly ever funny. In fact, I can not remember ever laughing at any thing he says. He has a bad reputation as a comedian among his peers. Now I can understand why.

Kirstie did a great job on the show. She, like many women, especially her age, struggle with weight. It's a normal thing. I think she looks great. Lopez was not funny, just grade school cruel. Grow up, George.

A tweet will not do, Mr. Lopez. You should do it on the iar. I don't know how much of your audience are overweight men and especially women, but it's a demographic that you pretty well insulted. If your apology isn't from the heart, maybe you can make one from your wallet.
