Glenn Beck Radio Show Dropped From Connecticut Stations

Glenn Beck

Glenn Beck's radio show is set to be dropped from four small Connecticut stations, it was reported Thursday.

Buckley Radio, a chain which runs 17 stations around the country, told Radio Ink magazine and Media Matters that it will cease airing Beck's show, which airs on four of its five stations in the state, beginning April 4.

In an email to Media Matters, Grahame Winters, the chain's program director for Connecticut, said the move was solely due to the desire to add more local programming to the stations.

"Quite simply, we are making the change in our programming lineup because our listeners have expressed a desire for more locally originated programming featuring issues important to us here at home," Winters said. "This change will more closely align us with that goal."

This is at least the second batch of stations to drop Beck in the last few months. New York station WOR pulled his show in January, citing poor ratings. Even so, Beck remains the third-biggest radio talk show host in the country, and, according to a source, 88 stations picked up his show in the past year. He will also continue to air on a Buckley station in California.

Glenn Beck still has far more stations airing his show than Crazy Eddie, Steph. Miller, and all of the other liberal broadcasters combined. It's a fact that all the stories about stations dropping his show that the HuffPo and others tout as a sign of his demise our overblown and only pander to the left base of HuffPo and other left-leaning sites.

"they (sic) should get rid of Glen (sic) Beck altogether..." as niccolina writes only shows the fear of his shows many on the left have and lack common sense. And who is the "they"? If you don't like Beck nobody forces (not even "they) you to watch or listen.

i'm not worried about beck's ratings- i'm worried about what the republicans want to do to NPR.

they should get rid of Glen Beck altogether - everywhere! Knowing that he has any platform to spew his hatred and doomsday rants is not only insulting but scarey as well. Why don't they give a platform to spew hatred to all radicals- this is so insulting!!!!!!!!! Beck reminds me of Jim Jones, but instead of trying to controll minds in a far away place he is right here in the US, doing his doomsday programming. Faux noise should be so ashamed of him - what in heavens name is wrong with them?

They dropped it from Philly. Out of sight out of mind. What ALL these guys don't realize is that they are so huge because they have our attention. Who care about Olbermann, or Howard Stern, or Beck, if they are not on the dial. Life goes on and there is another talking head doing the drive to work hr.

If we can just convince the rest of the country to drop this tired, lying and overrated windbag. Good on those Connecticut radio stations. We need more to follow suit. Beck can be a distant memory; a member of the radio hall of shame. Let's make that a reality.

Here's a prediction. Beck will be gone and off the stage by the end of the year. A distant memory. Stations and sponsors are getting the message, the man is slipping back into rampant halleucinations. His TV and radio world is coming to an end.

Yep, his contract is up in Dec. His babysitter, Joel Cheatwood, was just fired from fox.

He's lost 50% of his tv viewing audience and over 400 Major US companies are still boycotting his show.

He's getting dumped from radio markets left and right.

And it's still an argumentum ad populam, citizen, as in a fallacy no matter how many times you and Beck may repeat it.

History is filled with people who like your chosen oracle The Crybaby were *popular* in their own time and place, but they were anything but *right* or *true* or *civilized* by any stretch of the imagination.

yeah..."according to a source"

i bet beck got that number from The University of I-Don't-Remember. The same "institution" that counted Eleventy Billion people at his 9-12 rally.

This number will have to be verified by an independent source.

He loses 5 stations and picks up 88 and the headline is that he lost stations? Why is he still adding stations?

Looking through MM and HP, I thought he didn't have any advertisers.
