Donald Trump: Whoopi Goldberg Comments 'Insulting' (VIDEO)

First Posted: 03/28/11 02:36 PM ET Updated: 05/28/11 06:12 AM ET

Donald Trump responded to the furor created by his comments on "The View" about President Obama's citizenship--and called Whoopi Goldberg's contention that his "doubts" about Obama had something to do with race "insulting."

Trump appeared on the ABC show last week and set Goldberg off by saying that there was "something on [Obama's] birth certificate that he doesn't like." Goldberg called this "the biggest pile of dog mess I've heard in ages" and asked, "it's not 'cause he's black, is it? ...Because I've never heard any white President asked to be shown the birth certificate."

On Monday's "Fox and Friends," Trump struck back. Asked if his comments had anything to do with race, he said, "absolutely not. I like Whoopi. I've always had a good relationship with Whoopi...but frankly, I mean, I think that's insulting that she brings up--what does that have to do with race?"

Trump said that people "asked John McCain for his birth certificate. They've asked others for their birth certificate. They asked Bush for his birth certificate, by the way...and they would ask me for my birth certificate."

If President Barack Obama was not born in the USA (natural born citizen), why is he president? Did the proper authorities not do their jobs? Who (what agency) failed early on (2006, 2007) in failing to bring this fact forward? For what purpose? Why was the POTUS considered a natural born citizen until after January 20, 2009?

During the 1950s, Mexican Americans and some Arab Americans citizens, born in the USA, were listed as 'white' (Caucasian) on their 'long form' birth certificates. If any of these American citizens are classified of late as Hispanic, Asian, etc., are they still considered eligible to be president?

Just curious.

Awe, give the Donald his pacifier (media). Donald will you spend the rest of your life feuding with the ladies of "The View"? First Rosie, then Barbara, and now Whoopie!! You knew exactly what you were doing, because Bill O'reilly did the same thing a month or two ago. Let me tell you Donald, your ridiculousness will not help you to become president. It just puts you in the same category as Sarah Palin.

Under certain circumstances, U.S. citizenship can be acquired from one's parents. The following conditions affect children born outside the U.S. and its outlying possessions to married (?) parents.

McCain: If both parents are U.S. citizens, the child is a citizen if either of the parents has ever lived in the U.S. prior to the child's birth.

Obama: If one parent is a U.S. citizen and the other parent is not, the child is a citizen if the U.S. citizen parent has been "physically present" in the U.S. before the child's birth for a total period of at least five years.

Please, look into this MaineSenior. Also, it is nice to know that Maine is the only state that has no poisonous snakes except the: Death to America Viper.

This is so pathetic for Trump to stoop so low for the sake of publicity. These birthers just refuse to accept the reality that Barack Obama is the 44th president of the United States!!

They know the truth, but the truth is not hurtful so they pretend to believe he is an "other" as a way of hating.

And so what! Trump, you claim to be tough, so stop whinning. What do you call it when you speak about Obama's birth? If someone tried to say I was not born in the U.S., I would find that insulting....and probably want to kick your butt!

What happened? There apparently have been some major changes that I missed.

When did it become possible to insult The Donald?
