How Second Avenue Deli Makes Its Legendary Pastrami On Rye (VIDEO)

The pastrami sandwich, Second Avenue Deli manager Steven Cohen insists, is "the great equalizer."

He tells Saveur that anyone can come together and enjoy the restaurant's famed double-steamed delicacy on rye.

"An Israeli can sit with an Arab and have a sandwich and they talk about the weather," Cohen said. "It's a microcosm of what's right in the world. Pastrami holds it all together."

Just don't order it with mayo!
