When Steve Jobs says the iPad is "magical," was this what he had in mind?

9to5Mac reports that a man in California recently proposed to his girlfriend using an iPad 2.

The man, identified only as Jordan C., told 9to5Mac that he took his girlfriend for a hike through National Redwood Forrest and popped the question under what he called "the largest tree in the world." On bended knee, he presented her with an iPad 2, on which he had engraved the words "Will you marry me?"

"Whether it was something I said or 'Apple's Magic' in action she gushed and said YES, now give me my iPad!!" he wrote, according to 9to5Mac.

Last year, a first-generation iPad helped unite another couple in love. TechCrunch writes that the man created a slideshow on his iPad and gave it to his girlfriend to look through. In the last slide, he asked her to marry him.

Something seems ironic about proposing to stay together "until death do us part" with something that's going to be obsolete in a matter of months.

If it had been via Windows she'd be looking for "...something borrowed, something blue-screened"
