Kosovo President Behgjet Pacolli Resigns, Vows To Run Again

Kosovo President Behgjet Pacolli

PRISTINA, March 30 (Reuters) - Kosovo's president resigned on Wednesday after the constitutional court ruled his election by parliament a month ago was not constitutional, but he said he would run again for the office.

"The president of the Republic of Kosovo Behgjet Pacolli is ready to respect the decision (of the constitutional court)," Pacolli's top aide Ibrahim Gashi told reporters.

"Pacolli will be the candidate of the coalition partners in the new election of a new president because he did not violate the constitution," Gashi added.

The resignation of Pacolli, who was elected to the largely ceremonial job in a power-sharing deal with Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, might force early elections in Kosovo unless the parties resolve the deadlock. (Reporting by Fatos Bytyci; editing by Benet Koleka and Adam Tanner)

Can we get the President of Kosovo to teach Scott Walker to respect the laws of Wisconsin?

Republican Walker gives the finger to the Courts of Wisconsin about enforcement of his Union stripping rules. Recall is fine, but impeachment is quicker and less costly.

Kosovo is entirely run by an unlikely and awkward combine of heroin dealers, white slavers, former Yugoslav apparatchiks, and fundamentalist Muslims. And it's nice that they have a constitutional court and all, but if their president can be described as having been "elected...in a power-sharing deal," then their founding document is probably not too solid to begin with.

Well, it is certainly a sign of progress, and confirms a respect for the democratic process, that he is agreeing to step down.

He's the president, he has no power in Kosovo.

certainly sounds like an improvement over Wisconsin.

Ah,Huffpo,Kossvo is not a country. It's a serbian enclave were the albanians are in majority.
The guy is more like a mayor.

No, its a country. A sovereign country. And the Serbs who live in Kosovo are Kosovars. Citizens of Kosovo.

Kosovo is not a country. It is not recognized even by EU as an independent country. Even Marty Ahtisary's plan does not call for Independent Kosovo. It is mostly countries that were involved in unlawful military action over Yugoslavia that recognized Kosovo's independence.

Take a look at UN resolution 1244 and that will tell you that Kosovo and Metohija is not an independent country.

Another mess thanks to the MIC and the globalists!

Kosovo needs to be divided and the remaining Serbs/Orthodox need to move to the "Serb" area.

They are routinely being killed by Muslims.

Nothing would surprise me at this point.

I've almost come to the conclusion that al-Qaeda is a CIA private army and the CIA, "globalists" and Saudis are in the same bed.

Obama broke US law by not (at the very least) informing and consulting Congress. He should be impeached. If Bolton was consulted and didn't convene Congress to discuss this; he should also be impeached!

More of the Kleptocracy in the former USSR gaining strangle-hold on the nations.

Even the USA has a Corporate Fascist in residence in the Goldman Sachs White House.

The US "Ambassador" in Kosovo is on RECORD (there are taped recordings of his phone calls) as giving oral instructions to the Kosovo "congressmen" on how to vote and how to circumvent the Kosovo "constitution" during the local presidential elections.

So much for the respect for the rule of law and for the international law.

A failed election and the court rules a do over. Here it's much easier to appoint someone.
