Tesla Roadster 25 Sport Review

Engadget:

Gadgets come in all shapes and sizes, but it's safe to say this is a big'un. Sure, it isn't exactly portable in the traditional sense, and no 24 month contract is going to make it fit into our budget, but that doesn't mean it can't have a place in your life. It's the Roadster Sport, the latest addition to the Tesla family and released to the world last summer. Version 2.5 is the fastest yet on the road, leaping from zero to 60 in 3.7 seconds yet still getting a rated 245 miles of range.

Fix the storage system and this is an overall winner. Who hasn't ridden in a drafty Mustang, Camaro or 'Cuda in their day and not enjoyed every minute of it?

0-60 in less than 4 seconds, but a top speed of 125? That car really needs a second gear.

My second cousin had a Tesla - one of the first ones. I got to drive it for ten minutes and loved it. Because of the nature of electric motors the torque and acceleration were unbelievable. The spooky thing is the car is absolutely silent. - the complete opposite of a Ferrari.

He hated the car and I can see why. All weight had to be stripped and the batteries took a long time to charge and burned out pretty quickly. But it's a first generation.

It certainly is. And not something you can tinker with in your garage with a couple of cans of Schlitz. ;0)
