'True Blood' 2011 Premiere Date Announced By HBO

Get the fangs ready -- "True Blood" is on its way back.

HBO announced on Friday the premiere dates for its hit summer Sunday shows. The vampire/werewolf saga will debut on June 26th at 9 PM, while Larry David is finally back with another season of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" starting on July 10th. The final season of "Entourage" kicks off on July 26th at 10:30.

It's a season of high intrigue for "True Blood" fans, as Sookie and Bill have ended their relationship and new cast members have been added to the show. The cast previewed the show at Paley Fest; read some spoilers at TV Line and watch the trailer below:

Why? He let Sookie get beaten half to death just to get her to drink his blood. He willingly slept with another woman. He raped her violently in the van. He attempted murder to keeep her from finding out the truth about him. He isn't the poster boy for a crush.

Mind you I'm not crazy about Bill, but it's not so cut and dry. The first one was before he even knew Sookie , sleeping with whats-her-face wasn't exactly pleasant and loving (it was actually quite disturbing lol), and the van incident was a wake up call that he's a vampire and when beaten and tortured to within an inch of his undead life, bloodlust can take hold.

He's not a poster boy but that's part of the appeal of this show. It's darker and more savage. Twilight and Vampire Diaries offer more watered down fair.

True Blood Season 3 will be available in May 11, 2011 on dvd for those of us that don't get HBO. I like watching all the episodes at one time.

Are you referring to the books from the series? Or a book in general? Because I've never read any True Blood books, but I do read lots of books in general.
