Crystal Mangum, Woman Who Falsely Accused Duke Lacrosse Players Of Rape, Arrested For Allegedly Stabbing Boyfriend

DURHAM, N.C. -- Authorities say the woman who falsely claimed she was raped by Duke lacrosse players has been accused of stabbing her boyfriend in the chest at a North Carolina home.

Durham police say 32-year-old Crystal Mangum was arrested Sunday morning several hours after the stabbing that seriously injured her 46-year-old boyfriend.

Investigators said the two were arguing but didn't release any other details.

Mangum is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. She is being held without bond, and jail officials did not know If she had an attorney.

Mangum was convicted in December of several misdemeanor charges, including child abuse, in a fire that nearly destroyed her home.

As for her rape claims, the state attorney general's office later concluded there was no credible evidence an attack ever occurred.

Child abuse is a misdemeanor? She belongs in prison for a long time and should have been imprisoned for false accusations which were too easily believed by too many at the time. I hope the parents of the boys accused of rape sued Duke and got a big chunk of their huge endowment, and I hope that the abused cold has been taken away from her. I find no excuse for child abuse for anyone. Too many social workers leave abused children in a home where they will continue to be mistreated.

I remember reading that during her post Duke medical exam she has 8 different DNA samples in her that were not from anyone of the Lacrosse players, and between those contacts and that terrible lacefront wig its safe to assume shes just hoodrat.

There's got to be a special hell for women like these whose irresponsible accusations destroy lives and severely damage the credibility of other REAL victims of rape. Conspiracy to destroy the lives of others through lies should be a felony--the damage to the students she accused will follow them the rest of their lives, and every woman in that county who is actually the victim of a sexual assault will have to fight that much harder to be believed. She should have been in jail for the rest of her life. What's the difference between what she did and yelling "FIRE" in a crowded theater?
