POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Authorities say a former project manager at Vassar College and his wife have been charged with stealing nearly $2 million from the upstate New York school over five years.
Police tell the Poughkeepsie Journal that 44-year-old Arthur Fisher and 38-year-old Jennifer Fisher of Ossining were charged with first-degree grand larceny. Authorities say they stole $1.9 million from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, 70 miles north of New York City.
The couple appeared in town court Monday afternoon but entered no pleas. The case was adjourned until April 25.
Police say a search of the Fishers' Westchester County home last Friday turned up four late-model BMWs, three Rolex watches, 10 unregistered handguns, a military-style rifle and numerous fake law enforcement badges.
Arthur Fisher worked at the college from 2005 to last December.
